Status of gun industry by Doug Ross @ Journal

To follow will be several IMPORTANT Info updates about the status of the gun industry currently, followed by an INVENTORY UPDATE: We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here's what we were told.
Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.
RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.
FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!
Armalite: Maxed out.
DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product.
COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.
LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.
Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.
AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.
MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.
RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted...

229 SHERIFFS SAYING ‘NO’ TO OBAMA GUN CONTROL

Sheriffs have risen up all over our great nation to stand up against the unconstitutional gun control measures being taken.

The following is a list of sheriffs and state sheriff’s associations from who have vowed to uphold and defend the Constitution against Obama’s unlawful gun control measures.  I applaud these public servants for their courage and conviction.

I call on sheriffs all over this nation to add their voices to the growing numbers of faithful protectors of our freedom. -Richard Mack

2013 Shot Show In Las Vegas

I will find it difficult to give SHOT shows registrationn comany (CompuSystem) any praise. The were late on getting credentials out, makeing sure that the information was correct and admitting that some mistakes were made. Example of this was how the mishandle Old Guy Tech TV registration for the Range Day. It doesn't take a lot of understand to figure out that a TV show needs more than one person to film the show. Now understand that we did the regisgttration way back in October 2012. I called CompuSystem more than 4 times to make sure that they had everything they needed to get us the correct credentials. I was assured that we were all set. Well not so, when we got here and checked in they only had me down for a range pass. Not Jon & Heather so how do I film without a crew. They could care less and turned us down without any apologies. Strike ONE.

Day Two and  first day of the main show held at the Sands Expo Centter. Strike TWO... One of the advantages of being press is that we have a room dedicated to press with drinks and food. Not sure at this point how many press are here but they but they didn't have  enough of anything. Even the cofffee was removed by 8:15,,, WHAT!!! This tells me that they are cutting ever corner they can cut. We are now headed out to the show room floor, will update later...

Obama, Reid slam brakes on gun control

Obama, Reid slam brakes on gun control.
Rob: I found this article interesting, maybe a little light at the end of the tunnel.
Sen. Feinstein suggests national buyback of guns Obama, Reid slam brakes on gun control White House petition: Deport Piers Morgan WSJ: Obama threatened Boehner that he’ll use Inauguration & SOTU speches to blame GOP Michael Barone: With no governing party in sight, 'fiscal cliff' look inevitable With President Obama’s announcement of a commission to study and recommend ways to reduce gun violence, the two most important Democrats in government — Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — have both indicated a desire to slow the momentum toward gun control in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut school shootings.
The president’s decision to appoint a blue-ribbon panel — the classic Washington ploy to defuse and delay consideration of an issue — along with Reid’s inaction on the gun question will undoubtedly frustrate many in their party who want immediate action.
Obama seemed to anticipate that frustration when he announced the creation of the commission, to be headed by Vice President Joe Biden, in the White House briefing room Wednesday morning. “This is not some Washington commission,” Obama said.  “This is not something where folks are going to be studying the issue for six months and publishing a report that gets read and then pushed aside.”  To stress his determination, Obama said the Biden Commission must report its findings in January.  Its task, he said, is “to pull together real reforms right now.”
Obama’s move will likely dissipate the energy behind gun control advocacy on Capitol Hill.  It’s unlikely that even the most pro-gun-control Democrats would want to get out in front of the Biden Commission and pass specific measures.  And the political world, and the emotional intensity behind the gun issue, could be quite different even a month from now. So Obama is stopping Democratic momentum, and he knows it.  Republicans know it, too.  “The creation of a commission is by definition an effort to freeze in place whatever object it seeks to examine,” says one senior Republican Senate aide.
Reid apparently wants the same thing. Meeting reporters Tuesday, Reid made clear that he does not intend to do much of anything on the gun issue. Asked “what gun control measures would you support going forward?” Reid’s answer was a study in saying nothing:
REID: I watched the prayers, I watched everything that took place in Connecticut Sunday night. No one law can erase evil; that’s what the president said, and he’s right. But we need to accept the reality that we’re not doing enough to protect our citizens. I’m very happy that the president’s going to do everything he can administratively. We must engage on a thoughtful debate about how to change laws and culture that allow violence not continue to grow. Every idea should be on the table as we discuss how best to keep our children safe.
QUESTION: Can you speak specifically [about any] particular gun control measure?
REID: No. No, I’ve been very clear here. I think we have to have a full discussion.
Reid is not alone among Democrats.  Although there has been much press coverage of some in the party, among them West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, who appear to have softened on gun legislation, there are others who most definitely have not.  “I’m going to be one of the more cautious (ones) about doing anything on new gun laws,” Alaska Democratic Sen. Mark Begich told the Anchorage Daily News.  “I want to be careful that we just don’t start throwing new laws on the books, driven by emotion, when we need to refocus on this whole issue.”  Begich told the paper he preferred to concentrate on the mental illness involved in recent shootings.
In the days since the Newtown killings, many Democrats and their supporters in the press have expressed a desire to enact “meaningful” gun control as soon as possible.  In two brief statements, President Obama and Harry Reid have poured some very cold water on those hopes.
